🌿 Embracing Nature and Traditional Crafts: A Return to Our Roots 🌿

In our fast-paced, tech-driven world, there’s a growing movement towards reconnecting with nature and rediscovering traditional crafts. This shift isn’t just about nostalgia; it’s a powerful response to our desire for sustainability, mindfulness, and authenticity.

🔍 Why This Matters

Sustainability: Traditional crafts use sustainable materials and methods, offering a more eco-friendly alternative to mass-produced goods.

Mindfulness: Engaging in hands-on activities helps reduce stress and fosters a sense of accomplishment and connection.
Cultural Heritage: Preserving and practicing traditional crafts keeps cultural stories and skills alive, enriching our communities.

🌱 How this impacts us

Close harmony to nature has always been at the heart of our work and we are now, more than ever, embracing the power of traditional methods to support the fight against climate change.

Craft Workshops: We are increasingly incorporating visual art, straw craft and costume making workshops into our programmes – from education to tourism. These help people reconnect with our natural world and embrace living seasonally.

New Programmes: We are developing new stories and programmes with a particular focus on our waterways and Lough Neagh, educating and promoting preservation of our natural resources.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives: At an organisational level we have created an environmental impact statement and have started taking steps to reduce our impact from increased use of public transport and car sharing to reducing office waste.
